If youíre having a corset back dress, take your chief bridesmaid or your mum with you to your final fitting so that they can see how long it will take and how to lace up the dress.
Wear your shoes in before the big day to help prevent blisters and also to see how comfy they are as you will be doing a lot of standing talking to guests.
When youíve found your dress, get the name or the style number of the dress and call round other local shops which stock the same designer. Some of the shops will be a lot cheaper, sometimes £200 or more.
Ask the dress shop if they are willing to do a deal on the dress, veil, tiara, shoes and petticoat. Most will offer them for free.
Remove the labels from the bottom of your shoes. If theyíre tough to get off spray a little furniture polish on to the label and leave for ten minutes. Same for the bridesmaids and the groom.
Consider how long your wedding dress will take to come in after you have ordered it. Most designers are on average between 16-20 weeks.
Use an independent dressmaker with bridal experience for your alterations. It will save you a lot of money.
